What is the difference in being an Independent Agent and being a Captive Agent like (State Farm, Farmers, All State, etc.)?
Being Independent means that we are not restricted to only being able to write through 1 company like State Farm, Farmers, and Allstate agents are. Agents that work for 1 company are only allowed to offer that companies policies and if their company decides to cancel you or if they raise your rates or they don’t handle a claim properly then there is nothing the agent can do for you. Whereas, for us if one of our companies does something you don’t like then we have other choices we can offer you. Everyone knows that by having more choices to choose from means you are more likely to get the best product at the best price. Back to TopWho do I contact if I have a claim?
We always suggest calling us first, but if it's after business hours or if it's an emergency, or you need road side assistance then you can just call the carriers claim number directly and file the claim. All of our carriers claims departments are open 24-hours, 7 days a week and can assist you anytime. If you call them directly we also get notified immediately and we will call you as soon as we get in to follow-up. Back to TopWho do I contact if I need to add a vehicle or make a policy change?
You would contact us for any policy changes, updates, or billing questions. Our office handles every service request for every policy we sell. We do not broker out any of the personal and commercial lines policies we sell and we are directly appointed with all of our carriers so regardless of what you need you would contact us. When you call ask for Megan Ellis or Keely Mitchell. Back to TopHow can you write a home or auto policy for so much less than another carrier?
Because we write through different carriers we are able to compare all of their proposals and send you the best one. Different companies like different risks and we know which carrier will provide the best rates for your situation. For instance, some carriers don't like to insure young drivers or older homes and so they typically have higher rates, but then there are other carriers that do like to write them and so they will have better rates. A captive agent (State Farm, Farmers, etc) they don't have the ability to do this because they only have the 1 carrier and so if you are not their ideal client then you won't get the best price.Back to Top
